Alicia Machado
Alicia Machado, the beauty queen, actress and model, was born as Yoseph Alicia Machado Fajardo on the 6th of December, 1976 in Maracay, Venezuela. Alicia is of mixed heritage. Her father was Spanish and her mother was Cuban. Through her entire life she's made a significant mark in the world of beauty shows, television, and even film. The rise of Alicia Machado to stardom started when she was named Miss Venezuela in 1995 at the age of 19, representing the state of Yaracuy. Her crowning achievement came one year later when she won the Miss Universe 1996 title, the fourth Venezuelan who has won the coveted title. The time she served in the role of Miss Universe was marred by the media's negative attention and controversy due to her gaining weight during her reign. Donald Trump, who owned the Miss Universe Organization at the time, publicly criticized her regarding her weight gain calling her "Miss Piggy" and requiring her to exercise during the media spotlight. This incident led to a lengthy dispute among Alicia as well as Trump.
