Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell has worked as a chef, TV host in America as well as an instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education. She's the host of Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network presenter with her distinctive long, blonde hair with a pumped up personality reveals easy to learn techniques and eliminates intimidation of restaurants dishes in her series Secrets of a Restaurant. Chef Burrell was employed for a time in New York at top restaurants as well as studied Italian cuisine traditions and landscape. Also, she was a contestant on Iron Chef America on Food Network. Burrell was born within New York State's Upstate, discovered a love of cooking. She pursued her love of the restaurant industry by enrolling at The Culinary Institute of America following the completion of a bachelor's degree in English and Communications from Canisius College, Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was a wonderful opportunity for me. I couldn't seem to get enough out of the experience. Following graduation, Chef Burrell spent a year in Italy attending an Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners while working at La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria as well as La Bottega del 30 a one-Michelin-starred restaurant in Tuscany. Her time spent in Italy helped her to understand and appreciate the Italian way of life and its culture and has made an impact on her own food and culinary experience. Burrell was the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board participant, with the goal of to improve living conditions for children who face obstacles. Burrell also serves as a Juvenile Disease Research Foundation's celebrity ambassador, and is a vocal advocate for awareness of childhood diabetes. as a speaker, guest and teacher she travels across the U.S. to share her culinary passion and career. Anne in all her cooking journey, has said that it's an honor to be in a position to share her passion for the food industry with people.
